Created during Global Game Jam 2023 in Armenia with a team of four programmers from Cassette LLC, this game represents one of my first collaborative development experiences. Built around the theme 'ROOTS,' the game follows a tree branch growing through desert terrain in search of water sources.

Contributed to visual effects development, post-processing implementation, and design decisions while learning essential team collaboration skills. Created the preview video and handled the technical aspects of the branch's underground/surface transition effects.

The development process was a lesson in rapid iteration and team coordination under the 48-hour constraint. After spending six hours brainstorming various interpretations of 'roots,' the team settled on the literal approach and divided work efficiently to deliver a polished experience.

The game functions as a level-based experience with a unique twist - players control a growing branch navigating obstacles while the core mechanic was prototyped and working within just 15 minutes of development, allowing time for polish and visual effects.
